The Motorcycle Ride for Dad is Canada's biggest annual motorcycle event dedicated to fighting prostate cancer through research and education. In 2007, the Avalon Chapter (based in Newfoundland and Labrador) took pride in being included in 13 cities across Canada in fighting the battle against prostate cancer. The first Ride for Dad took place in Ottawa in 2000.
Our charter was signed February 8th, 2007 and June 9th of the same year marked the first ride for the Avalon/St. John’s Chapter. It was a great day with perfect weather with over 200 riders and dozens of volunteers and supporters. This was the first major motorcycle event for the summer and we were deeply thankful for everyone that attended and supported the Ride.
A lot of work goes into the planning of these motorcycle rides and it takes a lot of dedicated people to make it happen. Each chapter has it own team that works tirelessly in order to have a successful and safe run. Meet some of our team.
