Motorcycle Ride for Dad raises
$5 million in 23 rides
across Canada.
The Motorcycle Ride for Dad began in Ottawa in 2000. Garry Janz, along with the support of the Ottawa Police Association, the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre Foundation and a handful of volunteers, organized that first Ride.
Since then, the Ride has been raising money for prostate cancer research and education. Men, women and children rally each year to support the Ride in staggering numbers. Our event gets even more exciting as new Ride for Dad Chapters continue to join the fight against prostate cancer in other Canadian cities.
The Ride is an event whose time has arrived
- Boomers are buying motorcycles in unprecedented numbers.
- More men then ever are being diagnosed with prostate cancer.
- Public figures and celebrities are admitting they are being treated for prostate cancer.
- Despite this, little is being done to help this cause in a way which catches public attention like the Motorcycle Ride for Dad!
